  2. His only tournament experience prior included a couple no-limit hold'em events at the annual Arizona State Poker Championship back home. To a winner here at the 2019 World Series of Poker.

The Arizona State Poker Championship tournament started the semifinal tables on Saturday at 9AM. It started with 450 players and continued until there were only 20 left for the final two tables.

Royal casino bucuresti novotel istanbul. Only two sites having their WSOP 2019 qualifiers in full swing at the moment. These are 888 Poker and America's Cardroom.

I expect more sites to follow – partypoker does feature WSOP Circuit events, though no mention of the big one just yet.

There are Main Event packages and side events up for grabs this time. You will also find a variety of ways to get into main satellite qualifiers. ACR have ‘Steps' (and are guaranteeing 15 Main Event packages), while 888 goes down the MTT route.

Non-US World Series Qualifiers 2019 – 888 Poker

As one of the main sponsors, 888 has always been a great bet for qualifiers. They have their own event (the ‘Crazy 8's'), though most of the focus is on the Main Event.

This year's package for the main is worth $12,600. That includes your entry fee, money for the flight and expenses and accommodation from the 4th to the 11th of July in the Vdara hotel. You'll also get a party invitation (and probably an inane goody bag!).

Back to the qualifiers. The key satellites take place each Sunday. These are a big steep at $1050 to enter into directly. Most people will qualify via sub-satellites. Higher buy-in MTTs are $109 and $16.50 - and take place throughout the week. There are also smaller buy-in ‘Steps'. These start at just 1c, then 10c, $1, $5 and $30. Those $30 qualifiers can get you into satellites for the $1050 direct qualifiers (I saw a big overlay on one yesterday), or for the $109 games.

The main qualifiers are on Sundays at 9:30 CET.

Update: Action is hotting up already compared to a couple of weeks ago… These games are soft too!

SNG Steps:

If you head to the Sit N Go section instead of the Tournaments, you'll find qualifiers under the steps tab. When I checked, only steps 1 and 2 were available. These are the tiny buy-ins at 1c and 10c. Presumably when you have a $1 ticket, you can head to the MTT steps instead.

You will also be able to qualify for the ‘Crazy 8's' (which has an $888,888 prize pool) event. These packages are worth $2700 – more on those in the ‘side events' section below.

US Player Options for WSOP 2019 Qualifiers

First the offshore sites, which are available to the vast majority of US players.

America's Cardroom World Series Steps

In recent years, ACR Poker (on the Winning Poker Network) have been the offshore site of choice when it comes to World Series qualifiers. This year they are pushing their own ‘The Venom' online tournament – which has a cool $5 million guarantee. That has not pushed out the WSOP satellites completely, though it does seem to have reduced the guarantee.

Instead of the usual 50 packages guaranteed, ACR are offering 15 at the moment. That is still impressive – as is the way that these are won.

At the moment, WSOP packages are available exclusively via Steps Sit N Go tournaments. These start low, with 8 levels until you get hold of that package. Here are the buy-ins and prizes on offer.

  • Step 0: 25c + 3c
  • Step 1: $1.50 + 15c
  • Step 2: $6.60 + 60c
  • Step 3: $15 + $1.50c
  • Step 4: $50 + $5c
  • Step 5: $140 + $10
  • Step 6: $500 + $40
  • Step 7: $1800 + $120

I'm hoping (expecting… mostly) that there will be MTT qualifiers added to this mix. America's Cardroom have carved out a niche for tournaments for most US states, and certainly have the player base to make this work.

Regulated In-State Sites

With the new joined player pools between New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware there are better chances than ever to win a packages via regulated state sites.

888 are directly involved in the WSOP, and will be hosting online bracelet events in 2019. Since visitors to Nevada can legally play online, a boost is expected on the site while the World Series is on.

WSOP 2019 Overview – Schedule and Highlights

Sure, the big publicity will always come via the $10k Main Event, which kicks off on the 3rd of July. What you'll find is a packed schedule which begins a full month before this date. The WSOP schedule is always evolving, and the 50th anniversary sees things bigger and better than ever.

As usual things get going with the Casino Employees event. This is on May 29th, alongside the first of 20 different games with $10k+ buy-ins (the Super Turbo Bounty).

Arizona State Poker Championship 2019

A new one-off tournament is a $50k high-roller for the anniversary. This is a monster game with 1-hour levels and a huge 300,000 starting chips. Expect the biggest stars of the game to be lining up for this event.

Another new event which caught my eye is the ‘Mini Main Event'. This is scheduled for the 1st and 2nd of July. It is a Main for players who don't have the $10k needed to enter the real tournament. The buy-in is just $1000, and the chips and blinds match the big tournament (with one significant difference – 30-minute levels instead of 120 minutes).

This running of the World Series includes the flavour of the month – Short Deck Hold'em for the first time. There are also new 1-day Turbos, the colossus at $400 should be huge and a $100k High-Roller. If you are after something a little more entertaining – then the tag team event or dealer's choice might be for you.

Rumour has it that the Rio is up for sale… who knows if this will be the last World Series in the iconic venue or not!

888 Poker have a ‘Crazy 8's' Side Event on the 29th June

This costs $888 to enter, thought the prize package available from 888 Poker is worth a cool $2700. That covers accommodation and expenses for your flight and food. You can qualify via MTTs which are running now. What I like about this one is that the main qualifiers are $109 – no intermediate step at $1050. You can find information under ALL Games àTournaments à Live Events

If you are super-motivated, these qualifiers tie-in nicely together. You'll need to cover the 5 days in between of course… though there will be a ton of action in the live poker rooms which is bound to make this profitable!
